Lori Evans

Safari Director

Lori recently retired as a contract government affairs consultant after more than 30 years in the political environment.

A common thread in her life has always been the care and rehabilitation of wild and domestic animals which began as a preteen. Later Lori’s mother introduced her to a love for elephants and this grew into anti-poaching activism and protection of the species.

Throughout her life, photography has been a mainstay.  While living and traveling in an RV for two years, there were many opportunities for capturing images, frequently at national parks.  This led to settling down in Montana to be near the expansive and diverse Yellowstone National Park.

Lori lives with her husband and their rescued canine Roger.  She has a strong fascination for learning and recently received training and certification as a Reiki practitioner.  She is curious how sentient beings such as elephants would react to Reiki energy.

In her spare time, she heads to Yellowstone - ‘her American Africa’, dabbles in various art forms such as drawing, painting with acrylic and alcohol ink, as well as hand-work such as knitting and crocheting.  Lori is also considering writing a book and screenplay that has long been on her mind, and in her new position as Safari Director, perhaps the lengthy plane rides to Africa will help in this last endeavor.
